JOB SUMMARY:

 

Reporting to our Supply Chain Planning Manager, the Demand Planner will play a critical role in owning and maintaining the demand forecasts for all existing and new products across all distribution centers. This position will be responsible for collecting sales data, incorporating historical data and additional market insights to develop a comprehensive demand forecast that will guide operations and supply planning.

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 

 

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • Build sophisticated data-driven forecast models for all SKU’s within the distribution centers (DC) and maintain the demand forecast input
  • Proactively manage relationships with the customer and supply planners to develop accurate demand forecasts and maintain proper inventory levels
  • Monitor and report forecast accuracy (actual demand vs. forecasted demand) within the current week/month to proactively communicate short term impact to the business and determine necessary actions with key stakeholders
  • Measure and review long term forecast accuracy and track historical trends to explain changes to the rolling forecast as part of the monthly planning review process 
  • Develop transition strategy and forecasts during product phasing including new product introductions, end of life and conversions
  • Identify and communicate opportunities for continuous improvement to forecast accuracy and demand planning processes.
  • Coordinate cross-functional resolution of day-to-day issues related to supply and demand discrepancies, ensure effective postmortem documentation when needed
  • Performs other related and assigned duties as necessary

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

 

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Management, or related field preferred

Experience:

  • 3+ years in a demand planning or operational forecasting role
  • Experience in S&OP (Sales & Operations Planning) or Integrated Business Planning processes preferred
  • Experience using Oracle Demand Planning or similar forecasting software preferred

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: 

  • Highly collaborative and comfortable working with a wide range of stakeholders
  • Communicate and coordinate effectively with internal and external customers verbally and in writing
  • Ability to think strategically and execute tactically, a persistent attention to detail
  • A high level of comfort managing competing priorities and working with ambiguity
  • Proven ability to organize, analyze and present complex sets of data, utilizing both quantitative and qualitative information to identify patterns and discover new insights about our business
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, and specifically proficient with Microsoft Excel
