Job Description
Following Department of Transportation (DOT), state, and federal regulations, drives tractor-trailer unit safely from the distribution center to all points of distribution and returns.

Deliver product to customers in an efficient, timely, courteous and accurate manner.

Responsible for accurately unloading the customer’s order case by case (case weights are from a minimum of 1 pound up to 67 pounds). Unload cases of product manually with pallet jack, hand truck, hook, and lift gate onto and off the truck.

Drivers will unload products inside of trailer consisting of three temperature controlled compartments. (Frozen: 0 to -5 °C) (Chilled: 35-40 °C) (Ambient: room temperature)

Drop off ambient products in back rooms. Stock and fill chilled products into customer refrigerators.

Work is performed in all weather conditions.

Involves working night shifts, such as 10pm-10am

Job Requirements

Valid CDL Class A

Minimum 1 year tractor-trailer driving experience.

Must be able to drive, stand, walk, kneel, lift and bend required for virtually the entire shift. Balance - pulling product, climb in and out of truck. Lifting- Ability to lift and/or move products on a hand truck or pallet jack.

Flexible schedule working nights, weekends, and holidays.

Ability to lift up to 75 lbs.
- Operate heavy equipment such as roll-off trucks, dump trucks, and forklifts
- Safely load and unload materials and equipment onto trucks
- Transport goods and materials to designated locations
- Follow assigned routes and schedules for timely delivery
- Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations while driving
- Inspect vehicles before and after each trip to ensure safety and report any maintenance issues
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, and fuel consumption
- Communicate with dispatchers and team members regarding delivery status

Qualifications:
- Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with appropriate endorsements
- Proven experience as a truck driver or in a similar role
- Strong knowledge of heavy equipment operation and safety procedures
- Ability to safely load, unload, and secure materials on trucks
- Excellent driving skills with a clean driving record
- Ability to navigate using GPS systems or maps
- Strong communication skills to interact with dispatchers, team members, and customers
- Physical stamina to handle long hours of driving and heavy lifting as required

Note: Experience with roll-off trucks, dump trucks, forklifts, or route driving is highly desirable.

30     Drives to predetermined store locations per route schedule, applying knowledge of commercial

          driving regulations and skill in maneuvering vehicle.

 

 5      Maintains driver log, trip and mileage records according to FMCSA regulations.  Complies with all

          DOT rules and regulations regarding hours of service, licensing, safety and equipment operation.

 

 2      Maintain company quality and performance standards.

 

 1      Report unusual conditions and problems to supervisor.

 

     Observe company safety rules and regulations.

 

 5      Practice good housekeeping.

 

 5      Positions/check load securing equipment to secure cargo during transit.  Inspects vehicles

          for defects before, during and after trips, submits report indicating equipment condition.

 

 1      Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Qualifications Required of this Position:

 

 Must possess a valid driver's license and possess a current DOT Medical certification card.  One (1)  year

 driving tractor-trailer experience.  Must be able to effectively communicate to maintain positive customer

 relations climate with other drivers/warehouse personnel/customers/supervisors.  Capable of standing,

 walking and repeatedly climbing into and out of road tractor or switch tractor.  Must be able to work all

 necessary work schedules, including holidays/weekends.  Requires safely operating equipment in extremes

 of weather and climatic conditions and insure working in a cold environment (cooler/freezer).  Must

 be able to frequently lift/handle cases ranging from 5-50 pounds.
